Howell Studio Partners With Lotus Bank
NOVI, MI- Lotus Bank became the first Michigan-based bank to participate in and finance Michigan's film production incentive. The program is designed to attract studios and producers to the state to produce their feature films and television shows here. The film incentive program was created to bring jobs and new industry to Michigan.
The first project that Lotus Bank is funding is "The Wannabes," a television comedy aimed at tweens and teens. The program is currently being produced by Savvy Productions in Howell, Michigan. In the first phase of filming, millions of dollars are being spent in Michigan. In addition, the production has hired one hundred Michiganders to perform as both cast and crew members.
The Novi-based community bank’s officers spent months researching the Film Incentive Credit, meeting with tax and accounting professionals, film industry professionals, officials in the State’s Department of Treasury and the Film Office.
